Experience the double thrill of a dog cart ride paired with a panning adventure
We have partnered with our neighbors at Turning Heads Kennel to offer an exciting combo adventure.
This experience begins at the Turning Heads Kennel site and includes a 20-minute dog cart ride followed by a tour around the kennel. You will have the opportunity to meet the dogs awaiting your pats, scratches and even puppy cuddles.
Additionally, you will learn about the history behind the Iditarod, the famously intense and challenging dog sled race.
Afterward, join us for gold panning at our site conveniently located on our property adjacent to Clear Creek. Our panning area is equipped with rustic water troughs set up under a tarp-covered log structure to protect you from the elements. We will walk you through the panning process while sharing the history of gold mining in Alaska.
While we cannot predict the exact amount of gold or gems you will find, every bag of paydirt contains flakes of gold and other semi-precious stones. This ensures that everyone can discover and take home their very own Alaskan gold and gems.
